Something strange is going on in a southeast Austin neighborhood. Hundreds of fish went belly up in a local pond. Tuesday, the city and a local business are trying to figure out what happened. The city of Austin says more than 200 fish were found dead in a pond near the Onion Creek Golf Club. They're running tests to see what happened. In the meantime, residents there are frustrated by what they see and smell. When Jean Tarcz walked outside to the retention pond behind her home near Onion Creek Golf Course Monday she couldn't believe her eyes. "I saw all these huge fish out there floating...dead." Tarcz said. She says she feels the owner of the retention pond, onion creek club, neglected to care for the pond.
"If you keep the water this low, the aerators cannot work and they just become clogged," Tarcz said. - SOTT See Video Here: http://www.myfoxaustin.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9292577 RUSSIA – Throughout history, large volcanic eruptions have been known to influence climate. This summer, the Midwest experienced a cold wave referred to as “Julytober” following the June eruption of Mount Sheveluch in Russia. Experts continue to compare this eruption to others from history and debate whether it could have induced the cooler Midwestern weather. “Large Russian volcano eruptions tend to cool the Midwest,” Historical Climatologist Evelyn Browning-Garriss said. When a volcano erupts, if it is large enough, it can send debris miles into the stratosphere. The stratosphere is the atmosphere above where weather takes place, approximately 6-8 miles off the ground. “Sulfur dioxide combines with water in the atmosphere to provide sulfuric acid aerosol droplets that reflect incoming solar radiation,” PhD Research Geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey Alaska Volcano Observatory David Schneider said.Although the eruption of Mount Sheveluch in June was minor compared to previous eruptions like Mount Pinatubo, two years before in 2011 there were two big eruptions in Russia and Iceland. These eruptions launched high amounts of debris into the air that still remain present today. With a lot of debris already existent in the atmosphere, the addition of the debris from Mount Sheveluch may have then had the ability to possibly influence temperatures by blocking out sunlight, Browning-Garriss said. While volcano experts agree that it is possible for an eruption to influence temperature, as observed in the historic “the year without a summer” in 1816 resulting from the disastrous 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora, most do not believe that the June Russian eruption was massive enough to impact temperatures. “It is highly unlikely that the modest eruptions of Mount Sheveluch have contributed in a significant manner,” Schneider said. –Accuweather excerpt
The latest tropical storm originating in Southeast Asia is now on its way towardsTaiwan and southern Japan, bringing with it heavy rain and the possible threat of flooding. The storm, dubbed Kong-rey, is now leaving the northern Philippines, where the cities of Laoag and Sinait experienced between 4 and over 6 inches (100 mm to 150 mm) of rainfall. Meteorologists are predicting the heaviest rain to fall on the mountains and eastern parts of Taiwan, beginning on Wednesday and into Thursday. Tropical Storm Kong-rey Tropical Storm Kong-rey will pass over slowly, with a small chance of it strengthening into a typhoon, but due to sticking to the east, damage-causing winds are expected to stay off the coast of the island. Authorities warn that the greatest threats to those in higher risk areas are flash floods and mudslides. Following Taiwan, Kong-rey will start on a path towards the northeast on Friday, affecting Japan that evening and through the weekend. High-speed winds will not be a concern by this point, but heavy rain should be expected on Japan’s southern island of Kyushu, and the southern region of Honshu, the country’s main island. Northern Honshu and Hokkaido will have their share of rainfall when a low pressure front moves in late in the weekend. Due to the terrain, once again flash floods and mudslides are warned to be the greatest danger, especially on Saturday. -JDP
Russia's Flood on a steady rise. - RIANOVOSTI
KHABAROVSK, August 28 (RIA Novosti) - Aggressive bears, starving because their natural food sources were destroyed by floods, are becoming a growing threat for Far Eastern villages, local police said on Wednesday. According to Yevgeny Shukshin, the police chief of the Polina Osipenko district in the Khabarovsk Territory, bears currently have difficulties with finding their traditional food - berries and salmon - because of floods. “Chances of meeting the predator have increased,” he said in a statement. “Hunger drives the animals closer to humans, forces them to search for food at garbage dumps. More and more often we are being informed of bears approaching villages.” In one of such incidents, police had to deal with an aggressive bear, which dangerously approached a group of children picking mushrooms. Officers initially tried to scare the animal off, but it ran towards them and was killed. Due to the flooding, which has occurred over several weeks, an emergency situation has been declared in four far-eastern regions - the Amur Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Khabarovsk and Primorye territories - as well as in the Siberian republic of Yakutia. A deputy presidential envoy to the Far East, Vladimir Pysin, said on Tuesday the overall damage is currently estimated at 30 billion rubles ($1 billion). Only in three Far Eastern regions - the Amur Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Khabarovsk Territory - 190 settlements with almost 9,500 buildings were affected. - RIANOVOSTI
We must repent, Yahshua (Jesus Christ) soon returns!
Matthew 3:1 - Repent for the reign of the heavens has come near Mattew 24:29-31 - "And immediately after the distress of those days the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give its light and the stars shall fall from the heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. And the sigh of the Son of Adam shall appear in the heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn and they shall see the Son of Adam coming on the clouds of the heaven with power and much esteem. And He shall send His Messengers with a great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together His chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other" (see also Rev 14; Rev 6:12) Luke 21:34-35 - "And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down by gluttony, and drunkenness and worries of this life, and that day come on you suddenly. For it shall come as a snare on all those dwelling on the face of all the earth." Revelation 9:4 - God commands his Messengers not to hurt the trees or the earth until His servants are sealed. Revelation 6:15-17 - Men who run to hide in rocks and caves to hide from the wrath of our Living God. "You can run but you can't hide from God" - Revelation 6:15-17 Bisphenol a (BPA) is the widely used chemical found in many plastics, food can linings, and even on US dollars and receipts. Known as an endocrine-disrupting chemical that mimics the hormone estrogen, BPA has been linked to numerous negative health effects in countless studies. The worst part? While the Food and Drug Administration considered banning the chemical in March of 2012, the ban was denied, and BPA continues to be ubiquitous. So what exactly does mean? It means the entire U.S. is still subjected to the chemicals negative effects.
Breast cancer is slowly becoming one of the many well-known negative outcomes induced by BPA exposure. In fact, over 130 studies have confirmed the link between bisphenol A and to ailments like breast cancer, obesity, and reproductive problems. Ironically, the popular nonprofit Susan G. Komen for the Cure partners with many bottled water companies for their For the Cure races across the nation. The problem, obviously, is that most of these plastic bottles contain BPA. While girls typically enter into puberty (or have in the past, at least) at just over ten years of age, studies show that this age has fallen by more than a year within only one generation. Some girls are even seeing breasts at 7 years old. Although there are other factors to consider, BPA may be to blame as well. After examining 1,151 girls between the ages of 6 and 8 in the United States over a two year period, researchers found that multiple chemical classes were detected at high levels within the girls urine. About one-third of the girls went through puberty prematurely. Our research shows a connection between chemicals that girls are exposed to on a daily basis and either delayed or early development. While more research is needed, these data are an important first step in evaluating the impact of these common environmental agents in putting girls at risk, lead researchers Dr Mary Wolff said. Some research has linked both BPA and phthalates to a disorder known as atherosclerosis. This disorder, which is the hardening of the arteries through the buildup of plaques, negatively impacts blood flow and ultimately increases your risk of heart disease. Shocking, the research is not the first of its kind. One team also found that individuals with higher levels of bisphenol-a in their urine were more than twice as likely to suffer from coronary heart disease than those with lower levels. 4. 5. Infertility in Males and Females Bisphenol a has been found to be adversely affecting male genital development, subsequently leading to compromised fertility health. One study examined the effects of BPA on the distance between the genitalia and the anus in males, known as the Anogenital distance (AGD). AGD is very important biologically for a number of reasons, and plays a prominent role in the health of ones fertility. Researchers found that parental exposure to BPA during pregnancy was associated with shortened AGD in male offspring. In other words, high level BPA exposure led to offspring with AGD defects. AGD has been linked to fertility in males, making BPAs negative impact on the male reproductive system noteworthy. Men with an AGD lower than the median, which sits around 52 mm (2 in), have seven times the chance of being sub-fertile as compared to those with a longer AGD. But males arent the only ones suffering; BPA has been linked to reproductive issues in women as well. In one study, researchers found that BPA caused reproductive problems that can affect women, including abnormal egg development. The eggs of fetuses exposed to BPA had difficulty forming follicles, which ultimately increases the risk of eggs dying before maturation. Additionally, the researchers observed other abnormalities, showing signs that they would carry too many chromosomes as a result of not dividing during development. This could lead to miscarriages or disorders like Down Syndrome. 6. Sparks Multiple Negative Brain Alterations Further adding on to BPAs long list of negative effects, some research has also found that the chemical disrupts a gene responsible for proper nerve cell function, ultimately leading to compromised brain development. Researchers of the study, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, discovered that BPA could damage central nervous system development by disrupting a gene called Kcc2. Our study found that BPA may impair the development of the central nervous system, and raises the question as to whether exposure could predispose animals and humans to neurodevelopmental disorders, study researcher Dr. Wolfgang Liedtke, M.D., Ph.D., said. Another study found that exposure to bisphenol-A early in life can spark changes in gene expression. The changes occur in a part of the brain called the amygdala, which can lead to increased levels of anxiety. The study abstract states: Early life exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA), a component of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins, alters sociosexual behavior in numerous species including humans. The present study focused on the ontogeny of these behavioral effects beginning in adolescence and assessed the underlying molecular changes in the amygdala. Last, but certainly not least, BPA may be one of many factors responsible for the obesity epidemic. One study found that high BPA exposure is associated with obesity in the general adult population in the U.S. Another study, examining BPA concentrations in the urine of kids aged 6 to 19, found that obese children made up 22% of individuals with the highest BPA levels in their urine. About 10% of kids who had the lowest BPA concentration in their urine were obese.
